Paneer Bhurji


Paneer bhurji is a popular North Indian dish that consists of crumbled paneer (Indian cottage cheese), onions, tomatoes, and a blend of spices. If you’d like to make this flavorful dish at home, here’s a simple recipe to follow:


  • 200 grams of paneer, crumbled
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and green chili, and sauté until the tomatoes turn mushy.
  5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add the crumbled paneer and mix gently until the paneer is coated with the spices.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the paneer is heated through.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, paratha, or bread.
