Paneer Pasanda


Paneer Pasanda is a popular Indian vegetarian dish that features stuffed paneer in a creamy and flavorful gravy. Here’s a recipe to make this delicious dish:

For the Paneer stuffing:

  • 200g Paneer, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup cashews, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

For the Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 green cardamoms
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 2 large tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped


  1. In a bowl, mix crumbled paneer, chopped cashews, raisins, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, and fresh coriander leaves to make the stuffing.
  2. Make a slit in the middle of a paneer slice without cutting it all the way through.
  3. Stuff the paneer with the prepared stuffing mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the stuffed paneer until golden brown. Remove from the pan and keep aside.
  5. In the same pan, add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, green cardamoms, and sauté for a few seconds.
  6. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  7. Add ginger paste and garlic paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Add tomato puree and sauté until the oil starts to separate from the gravy.
  9. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt, and mix well.
  10. Add cream and milk and stir until well combined.
  11. Add the fried paneer pieces and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
  12. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or naan.
