Here is a recipe for a classic red wine Sangria:
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle (750ml) of red wine
- 1/2 cup of brandy
- 1/4 cup of orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of simple syrup
- 1 sliced orange
- 1 sliced lemon
- 1 sliced apple
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Club soda or sparkling water (optional)
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a large pitcher, mix the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
- Add the sliced orange, lemon, apple, and cinnamon stick to the pitcher, and stir well.
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours to allow the flavors to blend.
- When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice and pour the Sangria over it.
- Top with a splash of club soda or sparkling water, if desired.
- Add additional fruit slices to garnish, if desired.

Note: To make simple syrup, combine equal parts of granulated sugar and water in a saucepan and heat the mixture over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool before using.
